What is genre? genre is a specific type of music, film, or writing. Genres create expectations in the minds of the audience. Understanding these expectations allows the audience to engage with the film more effectively. 4 film genre's I know are action, adventure, fantasy, and comedy. Sub-genres a genre that is part of a larger genre, it allows a reader or viewer to pinpoint more accurately what it is they want to read or watch. For example: Action/Drama. A film genre I like to watch would be somewhere between adventure and fantasy. It makes me feel like the characters and the movie makes it a magical place like a somewhat possible fantasy that you can't ignore.
