U'Nika Smith
12/21/23
period 7
Camerawork captures the setting for the film. The overall feeling of it. It's about creative visuals that reinforce a narrative and give the audience an emotional experience. The 4 major categories I'd consider when planning camera shots: Long shot, medium shot, close up shot, and point of view shot.
The definitions:
The amount of the scene or topic that is visible in a particular frame of a picture, film, or animation is the shot size. Ex. Full Shot
The exact point where the video or movie camera is positioned to capture a shot is a camera angle. Ex. Close up
The arrangement of the subjects in your photographs is known as camera framing. Ex. Wide shot
The way visual elements are arranged within a camera frame is known as composition. Ex. Symmetry
Take Will Smith for an example. Will Smith has been in a lot of movies like Aladdin and Spies in Disguise. He has received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA Award, and four Grammy Awards.
Why do you and your team have to develop camerawork skills to create your film?
Because it would be our responsibility for how the film will look and the aspects throughout the film. The right choice of camera movement can help to create a particular mood or convey a specific message to the audience.
Reflection
After outlining eight shots using a storyboard, students will apply camerawork skills such shot sizes, camera angles, framing, and composition. They will get practice in creating brief descriptions, either individual or chronological, and in recording scenes to illustrate their concepts. They will include directors, writers, performers, set designers, storyboard artists, and camera operators.
No, we did not accomplish the goal for this assignment because of the lack of effort to the other team member of helping with the photos for the assignment. It was difficult to do on my own from not knowing the full storyline I did not create. In short, they did nothing other than making a made-up storyline.
